Synopsis

With the rapid and constant transformations occurring in societies, it becomes uncertain to determine which skills should be taught to children and university students today. The difficulty in deciding lies in knowing which professions and roles will cease to exist and which will emerge. Skills that were valued centuries ago may be easily automated (Harari, 2024). Thus, Harari (2024) suggests that it is essential to prepare younger generations with skills that are relevant to the future job market. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD, 2019) reflects on how to prepare students to succeed in a globalized world, where it is essential to understand different points of view, interact respectfully, and make responsible choices.
